Frankly, I get distracted by the view here in Antigua. The sea stretches out into the Atlantic before me, the trees are covered in flowers and everything is bathed in sunlight so bright that I have to squint. Truly it is divine.
Sometimes when I drive across the island I am enthralled at the difference between here and where I lived. Gone are the days of twisty, snowy Alpine drives and hello to the crazy world of driving in Antigua.
Am I really in that much of a rush? I ask myself. Have I not slowed down from the hectic pace of life in Europe yet?
When it comes to driving here, it would appear not. Taking it slow is definitely the motto.
There are a few views that I love and one of them is coming from All Saints in the middle of the island, heading south and suddenly the vista of Falmouth Harbour opens up amidst the palm trees to the twinkling turquoise waters beyond. Each time I get a giddy feeling in my belly and think “Wow”.
