Beauty Alert – This Juice is Luscious. Full stop.

To start the day with a glassful of greens cannot be bad for you. Seriously.

Inspired by my recent trip to Ireland, where I found myself intrigued by Jason Vale being interviewed on the radio (no hardcore Soca music in Ireland – just the funniest radio presenters I have ever heard). I immediately bought his book.

Jason Vale’s 5:2 Juice Diet

I LOVE this book.

The general idea is that for 2 days every week you survive by just drinking juice – 4 juices a day. All of the recipes are given, including weekly shopping lists which is very convenient. There are 4 weeks-worth of juice plans also, so you should never get bored.

For the other 5 days of the week, during which it is acceptable to masticate (be careful there are no typing errors here), you eat healthy for 3 days (juice for breakfast, salad for lunch and a light dinner), and eat whatever you like for the 2 remaining days.

The juices are delicious. However, I LOVE food and I found it extremely hard to live on juice alone, even if it is just for 2 days.

However, a new lifestyle has been borne and I start EVERY day with either a cup of green tea/herbal tea/lemon water followed by a Jason Vale juice.

Even the children are drinking the juice in the morning, so I feel doubly good: knowing that my 7 year old starts the day with a glass of kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, broccoli and pear. What is not to love about that?

I urge you to wake up beautiful and moisturised, from the inside out!
