Island Life in heavenly Antigua

Had Antigua been as accessible in the 1800’s as it is now, Shelley may well have been writing these words about the heavenly beaches of this Caribbean island:

“The ride was my delight. I love all waste / And solitary places; where we taste / The pleasure of believing what we see / Is boundless, as we wish our souls to be”.

The beaches of Antigua are the jewel in the crown here and a paradise not found everywhere in the Caribbean. Allow yourself to be seduced by evocative names like Runaway Beach, Great Deep Bay Beach and Galleon Beach, then find an elegant and romantic restaurant with vast ocean views, order a sublime rum cocktail and then pinch yourself.

Is this a real place?

A little gemstone in the descending chain of islands that reach out to join the Americas,  the romance of the Pirates of the Caribbean flirts with the real history, yet the beguiling smiles of the locals greet you in the present.

Ensure you are not late for one of life’s important holiday destinations and check out Antigua and Barbuda!

Here is a share of some of my pictures from this week to entice you further!

  1. Wonderful! This should be used by the tourism ministry.

No animal should ever jump up on the dining-room furniture unless absolutely certain that he can hold his own in the conversation.
